2019 Sin Banderas "Red Rhône Blend"

Inky in the glass, the 2019 Sin Banderas Red Wine is a Yakima Valley blend of mostly Syrah (67%) with the remainder Mourvedre. Black tea, iodine, exotic spices and creme de violette all parade on the nose. The palate is medium to full-bodied and is filled with black fruits, salty tones and plenty of tension. Refined to consume now, enjoy this beautiful wine over the next eight to ten years. Drink 2022-2030- 91 points - Owen Bargreen

When the judges taste everything blind, sometimes their notes are kind of funny and rarely make it into our final write-up. But the phrase "Rich guys gold" was just too good to not use, as it succinctly expresses what we thought of this wine; it must be a big name, expensive wine that would appeal to high rollers. That's why were shocked to learn afterwards it was only $36, and thus the 92 Point score. Crafted from 67% Syrah and 33% Mourvedre, this is a robust, polished Rhone style blend with twice as much Syrah as Mourvedre and no Grenache, leading to a big, spicy flavor sensation with tons of dark raspberry, blueberry, and mocha notes with silky tannins. Only 6 barrels of this beauty were produced, which won't last long once the word gets out! 92 Points in the $35-$45 Category – The Wine Panel

A couple of hours of decanting will smooth its' youthful edges, and lead to a full, rich mouthfeel for a medium-bodied wine. Only 6 barrels produced. This wine should age very well, but if you can't wait, pair now with roasted meats and rich cheeses. 90 Points in the $35-$45 Category - The Wine Panel.

2016 Sin Banderas "Red Rhône Blend"

Syrah and Mourvèdre make up equal parts of this wine. The aromas offer notes of coffee, dark chocolate, herb, cranberry and ample barrel spicing. The palate is creamy in feel, with coffee, raspberry and cherry. Barrel spices linger on the finish. The oak plays prominently, but by and large it works. It has a long life in front of it. 90 points - SEAN P. SULLIVAN
